Find Personal Trainer Jobs Across the UK
Personal training is one of the most rewarding careers in the fitness industry — and in 2026, qualified PTs have never been more in demand. With over 30 million active adults in the UK and gym membership at record levels, the need for talented, passionate personal trainers is growing every year.
Love Fitness Jobs is the UK's specialist fitness job board. We work with the best operators in the country — from PureGym and The Gym Group to David Lloyd, Virgin Active, and Third Space — and we list PT roles that you won't find anywhere else.
Types of Personal Trainer Jobs We List
Employed PT roles — Work directly for a gym or health club on a salary. You'll typically deliver inductions, group sessions, and one-to-one personal training, with clients provided and a predictable monthly income. Premium clubs like David Lloyd and Virgin Active pay significantly more than budget gym chains, so it pays to know the market.
Self-employed PT roles — Rent space on a gym floor and build your own client base. The income ceiling is higher — London PTs with strong client books regularly earn £60k+ — but the income is variable and you'll need to factor in floor rental, insurance, and quiet periods.
Specialist PT roles — Strength and conditioning, pre/post-natal, older adult programming, rehabilitation, and sports performance are all specialist areas with growing demand and stronger earning potential.
What Qualifications Do You Need?
A Level 3 Award in Personal Training is the industry minimum for employed PT roles. Most premium employers also now expect CIMSPA membership — if yours has lapsed, renew it before applying. Level 4 qualifications in specialist areas open higher salary brackets and more selective employers.
