This Is What Your Role Looks Like
As our HVAC Expert, you are the technical backbone of Basic-Fit’s Center of Excellence. No two days are the same: one day you’re reviewing HVAC designs for a new club under construction, the next you’re on-site diagnosing a climate issue that’s affecting member comfort. You work independently, advising both our Construction and Maintenance teams, and you play a key role in ensuring our clubs stay comfortable, energy-efficient and compliant — across more than eight countries.
Your Responsibilities
Your role covers two main areas: design & installation of new clubs, and management & optimisation of the existing portfolio. In both areas, you are the technical conscience of Basic-Fit.
Reviewing and assessing HVAC plans for technical accuracy, completeness and compliance with the Basic-Fit standard: calculating and validating capacities, pipe diameters, air velocities and flow rates.
Assessingquotationsagainstthetechnicalplanandspecification:evaluatingmaterials,brands, pricingandestimatedlabourhours,andformallyapprovingthequote.
AdvisingConstructionandFacility Management onlargerHVACreplacementsormodifications,includingscope, design,technicalexecutionandpricing.
Who Are You?
You combine hands-on technical depth with an independent, critical mindset. You spot issues early, translate insights into concreterecommendationsand communicate complex technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable in an international, project-driven environment and willing to travel within Europe when on-site inspections arerequired.
Additionally, we’re looking for someone who is:
- Atleast5–8yearsof experience inthedesign,installationand/or management ofHVAC systemsin complex, large-scaleenvironments (retail,leisure,healthcareorsimilar).
- Minimumbachelor’sleveleducationinmechanicalengineering, building services,constructionor acomparablefield.
- In-depthknowledgeof airconditioningsystems,ventilationsystems (flowrates, CO₂ control),heatinginstallationsandbuilding management systems (BMS).
- Broadmarketknowledgeof relevantbrandsandsuppliers;abletoadviseindependently,nottiedtospecificmanufacturers.
- ExperiencewithEuropeanstandardsandregulationsinventilation,refrigerationandenergy performance of buildings.
- Excellentcommandof English (professional level);knowledgeof Dutch, French, Spanish orGermanisanadvantage.
