This is an outstanding career opportunity with a not for profit charitable organisation committed to providing a diverse and meaningful range of leisure and culture related activities for the local communities in which we serve.
This is an ideal role for an individual who is passionate about swimming and leisure in general. The Swim Coordinator will work closely with the Centre Manager in promoting, growing and managing the Learn to Swim programme within the leisure centre.
Commercial Focus
Understand and use KPIs to improve commercial performance of the site pool
programme
Working with the Centre Manager and site management team to implement the three-year growth and retention plan to drive income from the Learn to swim programme
To support and achieve the monthly sales targets and to be an important point of contact for customers and front of house staff
Oversee feedback and enquiries from customers and ensure the best possible customer service is provided.
Managing the Swim Programme
Working closely alongside the Centre Manager to maximise pool space and
timetabling to promote convenient entry points and retention for customers. By ensuring the correct classes are scheduled at the right time, reducing waitlists and preventing bottlenecks
Supporting positive working relationships with the local Swimming Clubs, Schools and Local Authority Sports Development Teams.
Manage, administer and coordinate the schools program being a central point of contact for them at site level.
Supporting your manager in managing the best from the swimming instructor team and helping to find cover and ensure continuity of service for the customer.
To undertake any other duties as reasonably required by your Line Manager and other Senior Management.
Observation and Mentoring
Ensuring NRSTC qualifications are up to date and staff attend training regularly.
Support in identifying future instructors and where required support the recruitment
process as requested by your manager.
Regularly be on the poolside to observe and support the delivery of the sessions to the
correct standard.
Ensure training records are maintained for all the swim team including safeguarding, DBS and GDPR.
Marketing
Recognising positive stories and opportunities to create good content.
Supporting and assisting the central marketing swim campaigns in being an active promoter of all things swimming for your site.
Provide regular updates to swimmers via social media and direct routes.
Understanding both the companies and the site-specific USP and capitalise upon these.
Regularly collect and use customer feedback to enhance the quality of the programme.
Ensure that in centre branding meets the company requirements in terms of both tone and quality.
Communication
Attend meetings when required for your department.
Regularly meet with your Swim contract manager to coordinate actions and grow the program.
Working as a team and using appropriate communication methods for all stakeholders
Positively dealing with any difficult situations with customers or staff.

Qualifications and skills
The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of learning to swim programmes
The ideal candidate would be a fully qualified IOS Level 2 Swimming Teacher but this should not be a barrier to application as training could be offered to the right candidate.
NRASTC or NPLQ and First Aid at Work certificates are desirable.
Previous knowledge of the Course Pro software would be advantageous.

Demonstrate success in managing customers and getting the best from your colleagues
Demonstrate knowledge of lifeguard safety skills, aquatic event management and water safety would be useful

The most important characteristic should be a passion for leisure, the drive to succeed and grow the learn to swim program!
