How to Apply
As a weekend Receptionist, you will play a vital role in setting the tone for our patrons' experience during our busiest peak times. This is a varied, fast-paced, and engaging role within a dynamic community environment where interaction with the public is continuous.
As the primary face of the leisure centre on Saturday and Sunday afternoons (12:00 pm – 5:00 pm), you will ensure every visitor receives a warm, friendly, and efficient service while creating an excellent first impression.
Provide a warm, polite, and professional welcome to all weekend visitors, ensuring high standards of care to generate long-term customer loyalty.
Control customer entry into the facility, issuing receipts and managing access points.
Assist customers with weekend facility bookings, swimming lesson course enrollments, and new gym memberships.
Promote and manage point-of-sale items for resale or equipment hire.
Handle customer queries, comments, or complaints promptly and in accordance with company procedures.
Keep the reception area clean, tidy, organized, and welcoming at all times.
Operate computerised front-of-house booking and till systems to accurately process payments.
Answer telephone calls efficiently and professionally in line with company standards.
Maintain a good understanding of our digital platforms (website, app, social media) to assist customers with queries.
Operate internal communication systems, including the public address (PA) system, and pass critical messages to the wider team effectively.
Follow strict financial procedures regarding cash handling, till operations, and daily reconciliation of monies at shift end.
Maintain a clear understanding of all relevant Health & Safety policies, enforcing them gently with the public when necessary and raising concerns to management promptly.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality with customer data and center records.
Undertake any additional duties required to assist in the smooth day-to-day running of the centre.
Essential: GCSE Maths and English at Grade C / Grade 4 or above (or equivalent qualification).
Availability: Must be consistently available to work weekend shifts (Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm).
Customer-Focused: Outstanding interpersonal and customer-facing skills with a naturally warm and friendly disposition.
Tech & IT Literate: Competent in using standard computer software, computerized booking systems, and operating point-of-sale tills.
Great Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with customers, clients, and colleagues.
Organised & Reliable: Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, cash-handling accuracy, and discretion.
Team Player: Ability to work flexibly both individually and collaboratively as part of a close-knit weekend team.
