Spa & Health Club Manager
Location: Skylark Country Club, Skylark Meadows, Whitely, Fareham, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year (depending on experience) + performance bonus
Contract: Full‑time (40 hours per week across weekdays and weekends)
About the Role
Following a change of ownership and exciting investment in facilities, Skylark Country Club is seeking a dynamic Spa & Health Club Manager. This newly created role combines leadership of our luxury spa and health club, with a focus on achieving sustained sales growth across both the spa and health club in 2026.
You will be accountable for commercial success, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction across both areas—ensuring every visit reflects exceptional standards of care, professionalism, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Spa Management
- Implement new and dynamic strategies to maximise treatment occupancy, spa day sales, retail performance and cross-department sales.
- Work with the Commercial Director to set targets leading to material month on month sales and profit growth throughout 2026 and beyond.
- Oversee daily spa operations, ensuring a seamless and relaxing guest experience.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire therapists and support staff to achieve business objectives.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
- Manage bookings, payments, and guest communications.
- Champion training, development, and progression within the spa team.
- Manage inventory, budgets, and scheduling to ensure efficient spa operations.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Conduct required health and safety testing to ensure compliance with hygiene and safe handling requirements.
Health Club & Gymnasium
- Devise and implement new membership sales strategies.
- Monitor guest usage patterns and implement initiatives to drive engagement and retention.
- Develop strategies to promote cross-department sales from the membership.
- Administer membership processes, ensuring paperwork is accurate and payments are correctly allocated.
- Liaise with the Commercial Director and Head Office to maintain up‑to‑date membership records and reporting.
- Ensure health and safety matters are documented and addressed across the gym and health club.
- Oversee the efficient and safe operation of the gymnasium, including equipment checks and compliance logs.
- Manage staff rotas for health club employees and external instructors, ensuring fair and effective scheduling.
- Support inductions and training for new starters, maintaining high standards of professionalism and guest care.
- Maintain pool operations and compliance
Administration & Reporting
- Provide timely and accurate information to the Commercial Director and Head Office, including membership numbers, spa occupancy, and sales performance.
- Collate and review departmental rotas to ensure efficiency and fairness.
- Deliver added‑value reporting on spa and health club performance (e.g., treatment occupancy, retail sales, membership growth, gym usage statistics, and class attendance.)
- Support wider club initiatives and events to drive growth and guest satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven track record in spa, wellness, and health club management.
- Strong leadership, motivational, and time management skills with a proactive, hands‑on approach.
- Passion for guest experience and service excellence.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and administrative abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Commercial and analytical mindset, with experience in revenue management, forecasting, and business planning.
- Strong IT skills, including CRM systems, scheduling, and reporting tools.
- Flexibility to work weekends and peak trading times.
