Our Oncology Day Unit team in our Guildford Hospital currently has an opportunity for a university accredited Chemotherapy/SACT trained nurse. We are looking for a dynamic, individual who is productive, patient-focused and committed to treating our patients with the best possible care.
As an Oncology Nurse at Guildford Hospital you’ll be attentive, focused, detail-oriented and empathetic. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC. With post-registration experience, you’re a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care.
About the Role
This post will support the Oncology patients through their cancer journey. Our Macmillan adopted unit accommodates around 19 patients at one time.
The unit treats a variety of cancers including Breast, Cervical, Ovarian, Skin, Pancreatic, GI cancers and Prostate. You will work within a team of skilled chemotherapy nurses as well as part of a Multi-disciplinary team ensuring that our patients are treated with the best possible care. You will also assist with outpatient clinics, offering you an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge within Cancer Care.
As an Oncology Nurse, you will:
Be a valued addition to the team in our consultant and nurse-led service
Work with patients receiving chemotherapy or new treatments, such as immunotherapy
Fully assess each patient’s needs, providing tailored treatment plans and care
Assist consultants during clinics
Monitor and assess patient conditions
What you will bring with you:
Registered General Nurse with valid NMC pin, ideally with a SACT passport or willingness to complete the SACT passport
Significant post registration experience within haematology or oncology setting
Experience/competence in administering SACT, undertaking venepuncture, cannulation and managing of a variety Central Vascular Access Devices is desirable but not essential as training can be given.

Our site is shared with an NHS Trust hospital, giving us access to their facilities. The working atmosphere is highly professional and stimulating, yet friendly and collaborative like that of a large family unit.
The hospital is easily accessible from the A3 or M25 and we are located about 1.5 miles from Guildford town centre.
