Role Purpose
As a Commercial FP&A Analyst, you play an important role in helping Total Fitness understand current performance and make informed decisions about the future. Through high-quality analysis, forecasting and commercial insight, you support strategic planning and help leaders understand the opportunities and risks facing the business.
Working closely with Finance, Membership, Operations and Data teams, you turn data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making. You provide robust financial analysis, support business planning activities and help shape initiatives that improve performance, member outcomes and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning and Forecasting
- Support the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes across the business.
- Take ownership of budgeting and forecasting activities for designated profit and loss areas.
- Support the consolidation of budgets and forecasts across the integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Provide accurate and timely analysis that supports financial planning activities.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the business's Value Creation Plan.
2. Commercial Analysis and Insight
- Analyse financial and operational performance to identify key trends and business drivers.
- Develop meaningful insight that supports decision-making across the organisation.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of commercial initiatives and business activities.
- Support pricing analysis and provide recommendations that maximise value and performance.
- Use financial and non-financial data to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Present findings clearly and concisely to a variety of stakeholders.
3. Business Partnering and Stakeholder Support
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Membership, Operations, Data and Support Centre teams.
- Support non-finance colleagues in understanding financial performance and business trends.
- Provide reporting and analysis that helps teams make informed decisions.
- Translate complex financial information into meaningful business insights.
- Support strategic discussions through the provision of robust financial data and commentary.
- Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders across the organisation.
4. Strategic Projects and Performance Reporting
- Support strategic initiatives including pricing, member growth, operational efficiency programmes and investment appraisals.
- Contribute to new site evaluations and commercial business cases.
- Prepare analysis and presentation materials for the Senior Leadership Team, Board, lenders and shareholders.
- Monitor key business performance indicators and provide regular reporting.
- Support project teams with ad hoc analysis and financial modelling.
- Help ensure reporting remains accurate, relevant and actionable.
5. Continuous Improvement and Teamwork
- Look for opportunities to improve reporting, forecasting and financial processes.
- Challenge existing ways of working and identify more efficient approaches.
- Support the development of data-driven decision-making across the business.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and the wider organisation.
- Take ownership of personal development and professional learning.

What We're Looking For
We're less focused on specific job titles and more interested in your ability to analyse data, generate insight and support commercial decision-making:
- Newly qualified or part qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Experience within an FP&A, Commercial Finance or Financial Analysis role.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets, advanced formulas and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Experience presenting analysis and financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

- Experience using SQL to analyse and interrogate large datasets.
- Experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI.
- Experience within multi-site, retail, hospitality, leisure or consumer-facing businesses.

- Knowledge of integrated financial planning and forecasting processes.
- Experience working with both financial and operational performance measures.

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
