About the Role
As General Manager, you’ll oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring the gym runs efficiently, profitably and to the highest standard. You will be the driving force behind member experience, staff performance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of fitness and front-of-house staff.
- Deliver an exceptional member experience that encourages retention and positive word-of-mouth.
- Oversee daily operations including scheduling, maintenance and health & safety compliance.
- Manage budgets, financial reporting and key performance indicators.
- Drive membership growth through local marketing, community engagement and promotional initiatives.
- Maintain high facility standards and ensure equipment is safe, clean and well presented.
- Recruit, train and develop staff to uphold the gym’s culture and values.
About You
- You’re an organised, proactive operator who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
- You may come from fitness, hospitality or any live/service-led industry - what matters is proven operational strength.
- You can work independently, take ownership and carry tasks through from start to finish.
- You’re confident leading, motivating and developing a team.
- You have sharp attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- You’re confident in marketing, sales and community outreach.
- You understand what great customer experience looks like and deliver it consistently.
- You’re commercially aware and comfortable managing budgets and KPIs.
- You can balance hands-on daily operations with forward planning and continuous improvement.
- You have a passion for fitness and a genuine interest in supporting members’ wellbeing.
