Overstone Park Resort, set in 193 acres of beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Part-Time Fitness Instructor to join our dedicated Leisure Team.
The Role
Working 32 hours per week, you will be a core part of the Leisure Club team, responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and enjoyable use of our fitness facilities. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Club Operations: Taking responsibility for the efficient opening and/or closing of the Leisure Club on scheduled shifts, including security checks, setting up for the day, and ensuring all areas are secured at night.
- Gym Floor Supervision: Providing a warm welcome, offering instruction, guidance, and continuous support to members and hotel guests.
- Group Fitness: Planning and leading a diverse range of engaging and energetic group exercise classes
- Specialist Classes: Delivering high-quality sessions to a varied demographic of members and guests.
- Inductions & Programming: Conducting new member inductions, fitness assessments, and creating personalised, safe, and effective exercise programs.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensuring the gym, studio, and wet areas are clean, tidy, safe, and that all equipment is in excellent working order, reporting any defects promptly.
- Customer Service: Maintaining high standards of customer interaction, promoting club services, and assisting with membership enquiries and basic reception duties.
- Health & Safety: Being fully aware of emergency procedures and carrying out first aid when necessary, and ensuring continuous compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A recognised Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (essential).
- Recognised qualifications to teach a range of popular Group Exercise Classes.
- Specific qualifications in Spin/Indoor Cycling and Aqua Aerobics are highly desirable.
- Additional Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (highly desirable).
- A current First Aid at Work certificate (or willingness to obtain one quickly).
- Proven experience in an operational leisure environment, including key-holding or shift supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, outgoing, and motivational personality.
- Flexibility to work shifts, which will include early mornings (for opening), evenings (for closing), and weekends, to cover the needs of the 32-hour contract.
