The Role
We’re recruiting for a
Senior Operations Manager here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Strategy & Governance team, within Technology Services.
This role aligns against Head of IT Service Managementfrom the Government Digital and Data Framework
The primary function of the team is to provide strategic oversight and governance for the delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of end user services, ensuring they align with organisational goals, user needs, and compliance requirements.
The Service Tooling, Insight & Governance service area is comprised of 4 squads:
- EUD (End User Devices) Analytics
- ServiceNow
- Service Management Architect Practice (SMAP)
- Strategy & Governance
Core Team Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic Planning: Define and maintain the long-term vision and roadmap for EUS, ensuring services evolve to meet changing business and user needs.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure consistency, accountability, and regulatory compliance across EUS operations.
- Performance & Risk Management: Monitor service performance, identify risks, and drive mitigation strategies to ensure service reliability and resilience.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a central point of coordination between service owners, delivery teams, and senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment and informed decision-making.
- Service Assurance: Oversee service reviews, audits, and reporting to ensure quality, value for money, and continuous improvement.
- Innovation & Improvement: Identify opportunities for service optimisation, innovation, and transformation, leveraging user feedback and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Your core day to day responsibilities will be:
- Continual service improvement - lead and develop a team of experts to deliver service improvements.
- IT service reporting - use data analytics skills to make decisions that enhance business performance.
- Ownership & initiative - take accountability for issues that occur and be proactive in searching for potential problems.
- Service focus - see the bigger picture by taking groups of services and investigating how to get the best of underlying services.
- Service management framework knowledge - demonstrate an industry understanding of how to implement the framework into numerous environments.
- Stakeholder Relationship management - build long-term strategic relationships and communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders, supporting mutual needs and commitments while focusing on user needs
- Strategic thinking - lead the design and implementation of strategy, directing the evaluation of strategies and policies to ensure business requirements are being met.
- Technical Understanding – show a thorough understanding of the technical concepts required for the role and can explain how these fit into the wider technical landscape.
Your additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Line manager support, guidance and mentoring for more junior or new members of staff
- Contribution to corporate activities such as membership of a project board or internal network
