We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Diving Coach to support the delivery and development of the Freedom Leisure Diving Training Scheme. This role covers coaching delivery, programme administration and wider sport development. You will help shape athlete progress at all stages of the pathway and contribute to a positive and ambitious training environment.
You will plan, deliver and review fun, progressive and safe diving sessions that align with programme aims and meet the requirements of the Swim England Competition Structure and World Aquatics diving rules. The role includes attending competitions, meetings, training camps and relevant CPD opportunities throughout the year.
The position also involves providing both dryland and pool-based rigging support, maintaining high safeguarding standards and ensuring communication is always appropriate. You will work closely with the Dive Coordinator and gain confidence using the administrative systems required within the programme. You will also collaborate with the Southend Diving Club volunteer team who assist with programme activities.
As a Senior Coach, you will support and mentor other members of the coaching team and provide leadership during times when the Head Coach is not present.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and review safe progressive diving sessions
- Ensure training meets Swim England and World Aquatics technical standards
- Provide dryland and pool-based rigging support
- Attend competitions, meetings and training camps
- Promote and uphold safeguarding best practice
- Support programme administration and digital systems
- Work with Southend Diving Club volunteers
- Offer leadership and mentoring within the coaching team

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Sunday (rota basis)
- A qualified Swim England Level 2 Diving Coach
- Able to work evenings, weekends and periods of travel
- Committed to maintaining high safeguarding standards
- Confident working independently and within a team
- Professional and able to maintain confidentiality
- Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Competent in wet and dry rigging
- Experience coaching divers to National Age Group standard
- Strong computer literacy and administrative skills
- Land-based training qualifications
- Dryland CPD and confident hand spotting skills
