Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fitness Manager to lead our fitness centre team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for promoting health and wellness. This role involves overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring an exceptional experience for our members. The Fitness Manager will play a key role in driving membership growth, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a motivating environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the fitness centre team, including supervising staff and conducting performance evaluations
- Develop and implement programmes to enhance member engagement and retention
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all facilities and services
- Manage sales activities, including membership sales, retail merchandising, and promotional events
- Maintain organisational standards through effective merchandising and presentation of products and services
- Provide exceptional customer service via professional communication skills and phone etiquette
- Coordinate staff schedules to optimise coverage during operating hours
- Monitor health and safety compliance within the centre, ensuring a secure environment for all members and staff
- Organise training sessions for staff development and ensure adherence to company policies
- Handle administrative tasks such as reporting, record keeping, and inventory management
Experience
- Proven management experience within a fitness centre or retail environment with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive working atmosphere
- Experience in sales management, merchandising, organisational planning, and time management
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Previous administrative experience including handling phone enquiries with professionalism and courtesy
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Background in sports management or fitness industry is preferred but not essential
