Racquet Garden is a new, design-led padel, pickleball, social and wellness club and café set within beautiful countryside surroundings on the Somerset / Wiltshire border, just 10 minutes from Frome and 30 minutes from Bath. We’re creating a warm, premium, community-driven experience where thoughtful hospitality is as important as world-class courts.
We are now hiring a Club Manager to run day-to-day operations, lead the café, manage part-time staff, and be the friendly, welcoming face of the club.
We're expanding fast and hope to introduce sauna, movement studio, gym and more in the future.
The Role
This is a hands-on role combining operations, hospitality and team leadership.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the club runs smoothly, the café operates efficiently, and guests receive an exceptional, warm experience every day and the Racquet Garden brand standards are upheld.
The role includes a mix of weekdays, evenings, and weekend shifts, based on when the club is busiest.
Key ResponsibilitiesHospitality & Café Management
- Lead and manage café operations (coffee, pastries, smoothies, retail)
- Train, schedule and supervise part-time café/club staff
- Serve coffees and support café service during peak hours
- Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety
- Manage stock levels, ordering and daily café reporting
Club Operations
- Oversee daily running of courts, clubhouse and café
- Manage bookings, WhatsApp enquiries and walk-in questions
- Ensure the club is clean, tidy and on-brand at all times
- Support racquet hire, ball sales and small retail displays
- Handle opening/closing routines and daily checklists
Community & Experience
- Greet players and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere
- Build relationships with members and regular players
- Assist with social play sessions, events and club activities
Admin & Reporting
- Use digital systems for bookings, POS and reporting
- Track key KPIs (occupancy, café sales, retail)
- Liaise with coaches, suppliers and contractors
- Report daily updates to the founder
Working Hours
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Includes a mix of weekdays, 1–2 evenings per week, and one weekend day.
- Weekend mornings/early afternoons and weekday evenings are our busiest periods
- Rota planned fairly with flexibility around days off
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Hospitality experience and leadership role with at least 3 years experience. (café, boutique gym, hotel, leisure or similar)
- Confident leading and supporting a small team
- Warm, friendly, guest-first approach
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Comfortable multitasking between café service and club operations
- Basic tech confidence (POS systems, WhatsApp, booking tools)
- Interest in fitness/ wellness lifestyle.
