The Light Bar in Shoreditch, a historical London nightlife landmark, is seeking a hands-on and experienced General Manager. We’re looking to work with a leader who drives growth by finding opportunities in every aspect of the business. The ideal candidate will be adept at leading a highly structured team, delivering exceptional customer service, and skillfully blurring the line between our restaurant and bar to create a seamless experience from day to night. This role also includes the responsibility of executing large full-venue activations and one-off events working closely with drinks brands and our events and marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the bar and restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Working with the directors to create a highly attended entertainment program.
- Supervise and support team members across various departments, including the kitchen, bartending, and front-of-house, to provide excellent, memorable customer service.
- Collaborate with the head chef on seasonal menu delivery with a focus on seasonal, local, and sustainable produce.
- Develop training programs for staff to enhance their skills in hospitality and customer service.
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures.
- Collaborate with department heads to create effective strategies for improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in a General Managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in pubs and restaurants, with at least 5 years as a General Manager.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Experience in bartending or kitchen management is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
