With 200 staff in five countries, and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, me&u is the consolidation of two leading hospitality technology companies: Mr Yum and me&u, who merged in November 2023.
About The Role
This is a unique opportunity to lead the UK region for me&u at a pivotal stage of growth. As General Manager for the UK, you’ll take full ownership of the region’s commercial performance, driving revenue while shaping a winning team and culture. You’ll blend strategic leadership with hands-on commercial expertise, leveraging your industry network to unlock opportunities across mid-market and enterprise hospitality groups. This role plays a key part in me&u’s global ambitions - and your impact will be felt far beyond borders.
You’ll be taking over the role from our recently promoted Chief Strategy Officer, Josh Smith. Josh will perform his new role from the UK and will continue to provide in-region guidance, especially on strategy, product knowledge and operations. Josh will also continue to be an advocate for the UK region’s priorities at the global exec team level.
What You’ll Do
- Own and execute the UK GTM strategy, driving top-line growth and establishing me&u as the platform of choice for hospitality venues across the UK
- Take accountability for the UK P&L, with a primary focus on revenue growth
- Personally lead on strategic sales opportunities, particularly in the mid-market and enterprise segments, using your network and reputation to open doors and close deals
- Lead, develop, and enable the UK leadership team across Sales, Onboarding and Account Management
- Leverage AI to drive team efficiencies and scale our output, whilst ensuring we're still delivering on the personal touch that is so important to hospitality
- Ensure an exceptional customer journey - from sales through to onboarding and long-term account growth - in collaboration with functional leads
- Support the Chief Strategy Officer in advocating for UK market needs and ensuring alignment on roadmap and resourcing
- Establish operating rhythms and performance reporting that bring visibility and predictability to the UK business
- Be a visible, credible representative of me&u within the UK hospitality ecosystem - attending events, forging partnerships, and elevating our brand presence
What You’ll Need
- Proven track record in a senior commercial or general management role within hospitality tech, SaaS, or a high-growth B2B/B2B2C business
- Strong network and presence within the UK hospitality sector, particularly mid-market and enterprise venues
- Demonstrated success in owning a P&L (or parts of it) and delivering sustained growth
- Hands-on commercial leadership experience — you can win strategic deals and build scalable processes simultaneously
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing senior functional heads
- A collaborative, people-first leadership style that blends accountability with care
- Strong communication skills and comfort operating in a global business, aligning local execution with broader strategy
- A bias for action, resourcefulness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-evolving environment
NICE TO HAVE
- Direct experience in or with hospitality operators (pubs, bars, restaurants, or groups)
- Familiarity with payments or digital ordering platforms
- Experience leading commercial teams within a tech-led or product-led organisation
- Exposure to early-stage or scale-up environments, ideally across multiple regions
- Comfort using data and commercial insights to shape decisions and prioritise opportunities
- Experience representing a business at industry events, panels, or media engagements
