Main Duties
To support, develop and maintain the Steps To Health GP Referral Programme
To manage the GP Referral bookings, Legend appointments, and referrals to help the programme to grow
To guide, care for and assist all fitness users especially in areas of motivation, well-being, nutrition, and fitness testing
To coordinate, monitor and ensure all exercise classes and activities are appropriate, safe and effective.
To encourage, support, deliver and signpost service users to the most appropriate form of physical activity within the Exercise Referral Scheme.
You will review personal activity programmes, undertake initial consultations, fitness inductions, perform progress reviews and carry out various assessments with customers who have been referred from their doctor or other health professional
Carry out any task that is deemed reasonable at the request of a Manager.
The Person
Must be able to gain acceptance and respect from clients and the teams involved.
Must be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees.
Must be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation, both listen and direct.
Must be able to meet the demands of the role by working additional hours when required.
Must be able to demonstrate clear identification with all customer requirements.
Must be able to maintain and be committed to good employee relations and deliver quality training.
We are looking for candidates who hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in exercise referral and have experience in delivering prescribed exercise to referred patients. Although not essential experience in building relationships with community and clinical partners to create referral pathways into the service would be desirable.
