Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Recreation Assistant and Lifeguard to join our team at Stevenage Swimming Centre. This role is vital in delivering exceptional leisure experiences and ensuring the safety of our members at our community centres. Based in Stevenage, you will contribute to our mission of fostering active lifestyles for everyone. Stevenage is also due a brand new Leisure Centre that is currently under construction due to open is 2028 which you would be transferred over to .
Responsibilities
- Supervise swimming pools and recreational activities to ensure safety and enjoyment for all visitors.
- Enforce safety rules and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the leisure centre.
- Provide excellent guest services to members and visitors.
- Support management in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Promote a positive environment that encourages community participation.
- Assist with organizing recreational programs and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of pool usage and safety checks.
- Qualifications
- Valid Lifeguard certification (e.g., RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification).
- Previous experience in a leisure or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to leisure facilities.
- Management skills are a plus but not mandatory.
- Enthusiasm for promoting active lifestyles.
- Flexibility to work weekends or evenings if required.
