Job Purpose:
This role reports directly to the Conference Manager and supports the day-to-day running of our meeting and event spaces, as well as our Café. It’s a mix of working with clients, setting up rooms, and making sure everything feels organised and welcoming. If you’re personable, adaptable and take pride in doing things well, you’ll play a big part in creating the kind of experiences that bring clients back again and again.

Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with our Conference Centre Manager to oversee the smooth operations of Wilmslow Conference Centre
- Supporting the Conference Manager for the growth of Wilmslow Conference Centre.
- To supervise and maintain day to day operations of the conferences department
- A point of contact for client and visitor enquiries
- Opening up and locking down of rooms/buildings used for the event
- Uphold a welcoming and professional environment that encourages clients to refer others and return for future bookings.
- Support Conference Manager with set up of event spaces with an eye for detail
- Taking and managing bookings and catering requirements
- Supervise Thrive Café operations during quieter event times, ensuring a smooth and welcoming environment.
- Accurately operate the till in thrive cafe, processing transactions with efficiency and professionalism.
- Takes ownership of day-to-day operations in the absence of the Café Manager or Conference Manager, ensuring smooth running of both café and event activities.
- Maintain stock levels and restock supplies to keep the café and conference prepared and presentable.
- Work collaboratively with the team, contributing to a supportive and efficient workplace culture.
- Keeping all health, safety and compliance practices up to date and recorded
- Accurately upload information to and maintain the database of existing and potential clients using our System
- Support the sales process to promote the venue on various social media platforms
Ideal Skills for the role:
- A pro-active nature with excellent planning and organising capabilities
- A creative ambitious individual ready to take ownership
- Highly organised and able to manage time effectively
- Passionate about customer service and brand presentation
- Possess great customer service skills
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to deal with any complaints and find resolutions swiftly
- Have a good understanding of IT software including most Microsoft products
- Experience working in a similar role and knowledge of working to health, safety, hygiene and licensing procedures would be advantageous
- Background in hospitality or similar customer facing role
- Basic Food Hygiene and Basic Health and Safety Certificate are advantageous but not essential for this role
