Stafford’s Gatehouse Theatre is the jewel in the crown of the county town. The Gatehouse Theatre is a semi-producing house that provides opportunity for creativity. Creating new and innovative theatre is important to us, from the annual Shakespeare at Stafford Castle to an excellent Youth Theatre programme not to mention some of the best touring productions, and your involvement will be key.
This is a great opportunity for any Lighting Technician to have responsibility for their department, to have their say in how the technical department is run whilst also letting their creativity flow with our produced shows, where they will get to design the lights for our studio youth theatre and main house summer school shows. All whilst being supported by a fantastic technical team who champion learning, innovation and technical excellence.
Day to day the Lighting Technician is responsible for delivering the lighting requirements on all productions, events and activities in the main theatre, the MET studio and on any external events and productions outside the venue. This includes operating lights for incoming shows, participating in get ins and get outs and keeping on top of the maintenance and upkeep of the theatre’s lighting equipment.
We expect the Lighting Technician to provide a high quality of technical services and support to all incoming shows and users of the venue. This includes good knowledge of the venue, a positive can-do attitude towards problem solving and a high level of personable communication skills.
In the event that a high volume of suitable applications are received, the post may close prior to the specified closing date. Please apply as soon as possible if interested.
