About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable, and customer-focused Café Supervisor to join our team. You’ll be the first point of contact for our customers – providing a warm welcome and delivering excellent service in our café. You’ll be supervising all aspects of our Café including looking after the Café Team and ensuring we’re always Safe and Compliant. Hours: 40 hours a week, Monday to Sunday (Rota basis)
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Café
- Greet customers with a smile
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, including barista-style coffee.
- Offer a range of light snacks and pre-packaged food items.
- Always ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Replenish café stock and vending machines as required.
- Keep café spaces clean, well-organised, and customer friendly.
- Supervise the Café / Catering Team
- Help with the development of the Café service, and the wider Catering offer at the Leisure Centre.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service. Someone who will lead by example to deliver customer excellence throughout the Café Team.
- Comfortable using till systems and handling cash/card payments.
- Barista experience is desirable, but training can be provided.
- Experience of Food Safety & Allergens systems and documentation
- Experience in stock ordering and stock counts
- Confident to share areas on how to encourage more customers into our Cafe
- Able to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment.
- A proactive, flexible and reliable team player.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role in leisure, fitness, or community service settings
- Hospitality or Retail experience delivering customer excellence
- Supervising other team members
- Experience of upselling and understanding about income targets (training will be given)
