JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary objectives for the Food and Beverage Assistant will be:
The Food and Beverage Assistant will focus day to day on the following tasks:
To supervise the day to day operation of the bar, restaurant and kitchen of the Centre.
To prepare and cook meals and snacks in accordance with the requirements of the Centre.
To undertake front of house bar duties as necessary.
To ensure that all food is covered, stored, labelled and dated to meet the food safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 or the terms of subsequent legislation.
Make sure that food is handled, stored, prepared and served in such a way and such conditions as to prevent contamination of food and drink.
To ensure that the kitchen and bar areas are entered only by authorised persons.
To ensure that all cleaning duties are completed whilst on shift.
To ensure that all injuries involving staff and members of the public are reported to the Centre Manager.
To record any complaints and to pass to the Centre Manager.
To ensure all Health and Safety procedures are carried out at all times.
Ensure that a consistently high level of service is delivered to customers.
To assist in the management of the Centre’s quality assurance systems and procedures.
To undertake cleaning duties as required.
To undertake any regulatory requirements.
Ensure that company financial regulations are adhered to in terms of cash handling.
To ensure that a safe and efficient service is provided for the public.
To undertake any other duties as may be required by the Centre Manager to ensure that the business objectives of the contract are achieved.
THE CANDIDATE
Qualifications
The post holder will preferably hold a recognised qualification in Catering, or related subject, first aid certificate and Food and Hygiene Certificate along with strong knowledge of the Leisure or related industry in a small/medium sized enterprise.
