Sales Advisor - Events

The Riviera International Centre is an iconic destination site in the South West with extensive conferencing and event facilities, including a conference auditorium, arena/exhibition hall and additional meetings and function rooms.
We are looking for an individual with sales experience, preferably in the events or hospitality industry (although this is not essential), to actively seek out new business, handle current enquiries, administrative tasks such as drawing up contracts, attend trade shows and networking events and show clients around the venue. To be successful in this role you will have a strong work ethic, be passionate about the events industry and our venue and most of all have a confident and engaging personality who will put potential clients at ease.
Main Duties
Process conference and events enquiries generated through the website, email, telephone or walk-in enquiries with the aim to convert these leads into confirmed events.
Liaise with the Sales and Events Manager and support the development of existing business and create opportunities for new business.
Maintain accurate data on business contacts and enquiries, adding and updating events in the event management system diary and ensure follow-ups and contact is maintained.
Understand client requirements, objectives, and budgets to create tailored event proposals and packages.
Liaise with the Sales and Events Manager to develop appropriate Sales and Marketing activities which may include some weekend/ off-site work.
Administration tasks such as keeping sales notes up to date, drawing up contracts and terms and conditions, providing room plans, sample menus and any other information required by the client before the event is confirmed.
The Person
Will ideally have experience in the events and/or hospitality industry
Will possess a friendly, approachable and ‘can do’ attitude.
Will be passionate about providing exceptional customer care.
Will have a keen eye for detail and be able to multitask.
Will be flexible - evening and weekend work may apply occasionally (if attending trade shows or networking events).
Will be computer literate.
Will have a desire to overachieve in a challenging but rewarding industry.
